Component Manufacturing
Components for the PDS brand products are Designed and Manufactured in the USA and Germany for each respective market. PDS controls every phase of the manufacturing process, from the composition of the material used to the hardening and finishing processes. Only state of the art equipment is used to achieve the necessary tolerances in the low micron range.
Assembly
Each spindle is assembled by trained PDS technicians in our clean room environment. This ensures that dust and contaminants our kept out of our work. All components are properly cleaned and the specifications are checked prior to assembly.
Quality and Testing
After assembly, each spindle endures a stringent quality check. The spindles undergo a 6-8 hour run-in process (depending on maximum speed) to break-in the bearings. A set of tests is performed at regular intervals during this process to insure the spindle is running properly. If the spindle fails these tests, it will be disassembled for evaluation. After completing the run-in, the spindle goes to final balancing where it is dynamically balanced to 3 times better than the industry standard.
